Austin Mayor Steve Adler has officially updated his executive order providing new guidance for businesses to enforce safety restrictions. The 21-page order adds to last week’s enforcement, requiring businesses to make face coverings mandatory.

The order also encourages social distancing and hygiene best practices to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. What’s more, individuals who test positive in their homes are ordered to stay inside and not travel outside Austin until they seek medical attention or upon the approval of the Austin Public Health. A civil or criminal penalty could be imposed upon establishments who do not follow this novel guidance.
